Life Screen at your LODGE! |
9/5/2010 |
| |
|
| |
Do you have high cholesterol or high blood pressure? Have members of your family suffered from these ailments? Do you have a poor diet? If you answer "yes" to any of these questions, you may want to consider being screened for your risk of stroke through the services of Life Line Screening. Life Line Screening uses ultrasound technology to view the plaque build up in your carotid arteries, the main arteries that carry blood to the brain. Blockages in these arteries are a leading cause of stroke.
We are pleased to host this Life Line Screening event on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at F.O.P. Lodge 2. Register for the Stroke, Vascular Disease and Heart Rhythm Package for $149. All four ultrasound screenings take 60-90 minutes to complete. Your Health is in Your Hands, so call 1-888-653-6441 for more information or to pre-register. |

Diaper Drive for Murphy Family |
5/24/2010 |
| |
|
| |
Officer Travis Murphy of the Phoenix Police Department tragically lost his life in the line of duty on May 26. Officer Murphy left behind a daughter and a newborn son who was only two weeks old at the time of his passing.
On June 25 the Fraternal Order Of Police Lodge 2 will be holding a fundraiser with all proceeds going to the Murphy family.
In addition, we will now be accepting donations of diapers. Many of us understand that diapers alone can be a huge cost when raising children. By the time of the fundraiser Officer Murphy’s son will be about 7 weeks old.
Donations of diapers size 3 and up would be greatly appreciated. You can drop off diapers at the FOP lodge located at 12851 N 19 th avenue, Phoenix AZ during normal business hours.
Thank you. |

Skiers NAPSC having their 21st event |
1/7/2010 |
| |
|
| |
Dear NAPSC Racers, Guests And Sponsors,
Our 20th Anniversary event was an outstanding success! Many of our folks who had not been to the event in a few years returned to help us celebrate 20 years of competition, camaraderie and charity. With over 240 attending, we were able to raise almost $34,000 for the Winter Sport Programs of Special Olympics. We have now raised over $665,000 in the past 19 years. We also raised $13,500 for the Twin Towers Initiative benefitting the new law enforcement officers memorial museum being built in Washington, DC. This gives us donations of more than $38,000 in a few short years. This effort honors the 72 police officers who lost their lives on 9/11/01. The top Special Olympics fund raising team at our event was once again the Coral Gables Police Ski Team, donating $11,000. WOW!
The 21st event will take place March 20-27, 2010 in our home away from home, Snowmass Village, CO. These dates require a Saturday arrival for Sunday morning registration. We are continuing to give our law enforcement skiers a registration discount. For all the snowy details click here for there flyer on the event. |
