PLEA Attorney Reprimanded by BAR for Unethical Conduct
The State Bar of Arizona completed its yearlong investigation of PLEA attorney, Mike Napier, and found that Mr. Napier acted unethically. The Bar reprimanded Mr. Napier for taking on PPSLA as a client when there was a substantial risk that conflicts would arise between it and PLEA which would materially limit his representation of PPSLA. The Bar also found that Mr. Napier took on a new client whose interests were adverse to an existing client without honoring the requirements of the ethical rules. Mr. Napier had argued that it was PPSLA's duty to recognize and avoid his own conflicts. The Bar disagreed. The Bar's finding will become part of Mr. Napier's permanent record.
